Tomato – The Amateur – An Heirloom variety

This is a tried and tested, outdoor bush variety – given a typical English summer, this is the strain most likely to succeed out of doors. Growing to only 15ins high, it bears good quality, medium-sized fruit of worth-scrumping-for-flavour. If greenhouse-less, you’ve not bothered with Tomatoes before, do try this one – at the very worst you’ll finish up with lots of chutney! 3ft (90cm)

Cucumber – Marketmore – Shop quality’ outdoor cucumber

Luscious, cylindrical, dark green fruits are produced in large numbers throughout summer. Performs well both in good and poor seasons. RHS Award of Garden Merit winner.

Sweet Corn – Tasty F1 – Lives up to its name

Tasty Gold very much lives up to its name as the 21cm long cobs are filled right up to the tip with golden kernels of super sweet flavour. This is a super sweet type  so it will need much more moisture to ensure a successful germination and matures from early September onwards. Sweet corn is delicious when boiled and is equally as delicious if cooked on a barbeque in the summer months.

Courgette – Zucchini – A piece of Italy

Courgette ‘Zucchini’  is a fine courgette variety producing long dark emerald-green fruit produced early and is a very heavy cropper. Tender fruits are best picked at about 6 inches long.
